My Printmaking Process
Each print begins with a sketch. From there, the sketch is finalized and the reverse image is transferred to a rubber block for carving.
From there I carve the design out by hand.
Once the carving is complete, I mix the appropriate ink color and apply directly to the block for printing. Each print is hand pressed and burnished one-by-one.
Some prints are multi-block and require multiple registrations for each color and layer. Check out the video at the bottom of this page as well as my Instagram account for more insight into my process.
*Please note that since all prints are hand-printed, each are unique and there may be a slight variation in color or placement. The beauty of handmade!
